About the Author
Francesca is a teacher, mother of two, and fire wife. She is very familiar with the challenges first responder families face including extended time apart, unpredictable schedules, missed events, and navigating the dangers of the job. In hopes of supporting her own children, she used her educational background and personal experience from 15 fire seasons to create a retable children’s story that helps to explain and validate big emotions and feelings that come with having a first responder as a parent.
Reader Reviews
“I read this to my young daughters while their police officer Dad is on duty and it always helps to remind us that all of our feelings are ok to have (Mom included!). We love that it's short and sweet for their little attention spans, and the girls especially love the song and the illustrations. Bonus points for being inclusive of all first responders so that it's applicable to a wide range of families.”
